Broward Healthy Start Coalition, Inc. was incorporated on February 14, 1992 and is the leader in Maternal and Child Health policy and programming in Broward County. The Coalition receives funding from the Florida Department of Health and the Agency for Health Care Administration and is responsible for the formation and administration of the Healthy Start system, which includes management of subcontracts for quality services to pregnant women and children birth to age three and monitoring services through quality improvement and assurance responsibilities and accountability.
The staff of Broward Healthy Start Coalition is proud to facilitate this organization’s mission to support new mothers and babies and demonstrate a measurable positive impact upon maternal and child health services and outcomes in Broward County. We are dedicated to upholding our legislatively mandated role as Broward’s maternal and child health leader.
The Coalition is responsible by Florida Statute for conducting a Service Delivery Needs Assessment and developing a Service Delivery Plan with the goal of addressing Maternal Child Health in Broward County.
